How to read each entry
Each variety below is broken into the same four things, so you can compare at a glance:
-
Flavour — what it actually tastes like
-
Intensity — mild, medium, or bold, so you know what you're getting into
-
Texture — what it feels like in your mouth
-
Best with — a quick pairing idea (link back to the relevant recipe on your Recipes page where possible)
FOUND YOUR FLAVOUR?
Arugula
Flavour: Peppery and slightly nutty — like a more delicate version of full-grown arugula, without being overwhelming.
Intensity: Medium
Texture: Tender, soft bite
Best with: Pizza, pasta, or anywhere you'd want a little sharpness — try it on pesto toast.

Kale
Flavour: Earthy and mild, with a slight bitterness that mellows out compared to mature kale.
Intensity: Mild-medium
Texture: Slightly firmer, a bit of chew
Best with: Smoothies, soups, or blended into a grain bowl where you want nutrition without a strong flavor takeover.

Radish
Flavour: Sharp and peppery — the boldest of the bunch, closest to fresh radish.
Intensity: Bold
Texture: Crisp, crunchy stems
Best with: Avocado toast or anywhere you want a little kick — great for people who like a bit of spice.

Broccoli
Flavour: Mild, slightly sweet, with just a hint of that classic broccoli taste.
Intensity: Mild
Texture: Tender, easy to eat
Best with: A great "starter" microgreen for people who've never tried them — works well on eggs or in a sandwich without overpowering anything.

Pea Shoots
Flavour: Sweet and fresh, tastes just like fresh garden peas.
Intensity: Mild
Texture: Tender leaves with slightly crunchy stems
Best with: Almost everything — a great all-purpose choice for eggs, sandwiches, or salads. Another good starter variety.

Power Mix
Flavour: A blend of pea, radish, and broccoli — sweet, peppery, and mild all in one, so you get a little bit of everything.
Intensity: Medium (a balance of the mild and bold varieties above)
Texture: Mixed — tender leaves with a bit of crunch from the radish stems
Best with: Great if you can't decide, or want variety in one clamshell — works well as an everyday topper for soups, bowls, or sandwiches.
